Which version of PowerPoint are you using?
If it's 2003, you can use Package for CD and choose to package to a folder.
This will create a copy of your presentation and the linked music files and
"resolve" your links so they don't break. You can delete the PPTViewer and
DLL files the process with create, as you won't need them if you use
PowerPoint itself (the full program) to run the presentation.
So you can copy the folder created during the "package for CD" process, and
the sounds should be linked properly.
Alternatively...
You said, "All musical files are in general (common)) folder with
performance." That is good. However, the files (the music files and the
PowerPoint presentation file) must all be in the general common folder
before you insert the music into your presentation. Doing that should ensure
that your links work when you copy the folder elsewhere.
Finally...
FixLinks Pro might help you -- and prevent you having to delete all the
music from your presentation and reinsert it.
