I am using XP. I have four movie clips in my powerpoint presentation. They
are all mpeg files and play fine within powerpoint. After the first movie
clip plays, I click the mouse and it advances to the next slide in the
presentation. All is fine. However, upon completion of playing the other
three clips, and clicking the mouse to advance to the next slides, they begin
playing all over again and will not advance to the next slides in the
presentation. All four have the same effect, timing, etc. settings. No
difference.
Any suggestions?

Is the movie playing full screen? You shouldn't be clicking on the movie
because this will cause it to replay rather than advancing to the next slide.
Try pressing Enter key instead, and see if it advance to the next slide this
time round.

Try choosing "hide when not playing" or add an "after previous" exit animation
