We show a lot of PowerPoint presentations in our conference room, and I'm looking for a wireless mouse with a 30 foot range. We currently have an Interlink Versapoint mouse, which does fit that requirement, but we've always had a lot of trouble with the mouse. My manager was fed up and said "Find another one." So, is there anything anyone has worked with that they'd recommend? Thanks! We not only show PowerPoint in the room, but we also show Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, demo Web sites, and show Project files. That's where we start having lots of problems. PowerPoint's easy--the rest is hard because the tracking is very poor and the mouse goes to sleep way too fast (and this is better than the last one we had, also an Interlink. In the troubleshooting section of the user's manual, it says it runs into trouble when it's near microphones. We have five mics set in the table where the mouse is used, and 2 additional wireless devices in the room. YES, we recommend a true presenter mouse that stayed away from 5 mic's. and the worst from your loud speaker too. >We have five mics set in the table where the mouse is used, and 2 >additional wireless devices in the room. Too many wireless devices of near working frequencies will cause problem. If possible uses regular cables devices and move the loud speaker away. Who set it up? You paid BIG money without guarantee? All installer should legally post their phone No. for future use should this problem happened, etc. If you don't want to spent money: 1. Uses your wireless mouse as it is intended for and not very near your table, speaker, etc. 2. A true presenter should stays and belong with the audient to proved you're telling the truth and to avoid all those Booo! 3. Uses a regular wired mouse for near the table uses 4. Check by elimination; shut off or much better unplug it --- all Presenter's wireless mic's and other devices to check for interference to your wireless mouse. Plug it back one at a time to see which one is causing the problem. 5. check all cables for signal leakages and no good ground wiring/circuit. etc. BTW, If you refuse to use a real and true Presenter 4-in-1 devices then I can not help you any more. If money is not the problem what is your real reason to declined it? Your own wireless mouse is good enough BUT you miss-used it. If a manager know nothing --- hire an electronics technician to troubleshoot further if no cured --- yours is a hardware problem not PPT. Cheers & All the Best, Rino Kathy: Thanks! This is also just a small meeting room with audio visual equipment, not a big conference room where people are giving presentations. People aren't just using it for presentations; they're having meetings to discuss Excel and Word documents, as well as Web sites that are projected on the screen. That's where we run into problems with the mouse. A presentation mouse isn't an option because it's only used for PowerPoint, and we don't just have presentations. My biggest concern here is getting another mouse to "fix" the problem and continuing to have the same types of problems. Most of the information available on wireless mice is for people using laptops or people giving presentations in a large conference room. We seem to fall right in the middle of that. We may be stuck with what we got because I can't change the layout of the room, and we may just have to work around it. Linda, I don't use my gyro-mouse in too many situations with that many mics. I do know that I can have multiple gyro-mice running the same presentation on the same computer by syncing them.
