I have several .ppt presentations created in Office 2000 with .avi files that
are activated using custom animation.  Since installing Office 2003, when the
.avi videos play, black bars appear on the top and bottom or the left and
right sides of the .avi video.  How can I eliminate these bars?

In edit mode, do you see the bars in the player image on the slide?  Also,
how are you inserting the videos?

The bars appear whether I activate the video in the edit mode or when I play
as a Powerpoint show.  Originally I inserted via the 'insert>movie from clip
gallery'.  I also tried to insert as a saved file.  Finally I downloaded your
PFC software and tried to insert with it.  Now I have an error message that
says 'There was an error in checking your Registration staus [sic].  Please
contact PFCExpress for assistance.  Error R-Check101.

Maybe you can start by telling me how to get rid of the message, which has
taken over the center of my desktop despite my attempts to close it.  Thanks.

They they have been encoded as part of the video itself.  You will have to
edit the video before using it.
