Linking in PowerPoint Templates

I receive PowerPoint templates that are linked to Excel files.  I must update
the Excel file witrh current data.  When I return to PowerPoint and update
the links the information no longer fits in PowerPoint.  I am not changing
any of the column widths in Excel.  The only thing that changes is the
information in each cell.  The Excel information fits perfectly in the file
that I receive.

Can anyone tell me what I need to change / adjust to make my Excel files fit?

It may have to do with the combination of the version of Excel, PPT, and
Windows you're using. See

Thanks for the info.  I'll try it.
