Hi, I know I should already know this, but I've save the presentation in both
ppt and pps and it still opens into an editable format, not as a slideshow.
How do I email it to others as a slide show only?

Set a modify password in Tools > Options >Security tab and then save as >
"save as type" powerpoint show *.pps
Signature

Did that answer the question / help?

1. create a show within a show,  follow this way,  create a blanl
slide,  click insert -> object...   select "create from file" then
import the premade .pps file,   with this, you've already embedded the
pps in a new presentation.  but there's a problem.  that you should
make sure that the pps file will be played automatically without any
interaction, as the whole pps file will be treated as one object in a
single
slide, so, when you click on the screen, the show will most likely to
be stopped.

2. one more. transform your presentation to other formats,  e.g:
distribute to pdf if no animations and transitions are used,  or
convert to mpeg, avi, swf ...  if it's heavily animated.

hope it helps

Do you have Windows set to hide extensions for known file types?  If so you may
not really have a PPS ... Windows and PPT might show you whatever.pps but it
could be whatever.pps.ppt behind the scenes.

Have a look here, esp. the part about beating Windows into shape:

Do this before using PowerPoint seriously
