How do I add animation or effects to all of the slides at once without doing
each slide seperately?

Brittany,
If your presentation consists primarily of titles and text in placeholders
go to the master and apply your animation there. View - master - slide
master.
Or apply an animation scheme to your slides, custom animation task pane,
choose Slide design- animation schemes, choose one and click apply to all.
