Problems with text alignment

I have been making presentations and saving them, but when they are re-opened
all of the text is off line and the text is no longer how it was originally
aligned. On the upper ruler, new "dark arrows" appear and I can not get rid
of them. They were not there when I make these presentations, but when the
file is saved and then reopened all of the text is off line and these markers
appear. What causes this and how can I remove them?

I thought I was good with PP, but I find out only when working with images
and not text.
Thank You,
Sean

If you don't change the font and bullet in the slide master, then ultimately
end up changing the format of the slide placeholder ("Type text here"), your
text will default to the master format upon closing.
