Updating Color Scheme in PPT Template

I created a PPT Template with both title and slide masters. When I apply the
template to a presentation that has been sent to me, the color scheme, as
well as several text boxes don't update.

Any Thoughts?

If the colors had been manually changed so as not to follow the old color
scheme then they wont follow the new template
