i created a design template for use in a special presentation. it shows up
in the thumbnails in the right hand panel of powerpoint 2003. if i click on
it (or use the down arrow and tell it to apply), i get a blank face on the
presentation, and the thumbnail list jumps down to the bottom offering. if i
click "on my computer, the template file opens up and i have no trouble
choosing the design. i have it stored in "documents and
settings\user\applicationdata\microsoft templates" along with all the other
templates on my system. it is saved as a .pot file.
but i still can't get it to work correctly and its driving me nuts.
help someone?

By any chance, do you have the auto-arrange functions enabled?  If there is
an object where the placeholder wants to be, it may be rearranging your
slide to "better fit" them in.

To disable these, open PowerPoint, => Tools => Auto-correct => As you Type
=> and uncheck the lower 3 boxes.

when i click on the template, i get an absolutely "blank" slide- that is-
there is nothing on it. shouldn't the design of the template be there?

i worked on the master file. i have created other .pot files and they all
seem to work. could it be something doing with the way the file is
named(excluding the file extension of course). this IS the first time i've
worked with powerpoint 2003. in the past i've used 97, 200, and 2002(xp))
