I am importing pictures into Powerpoint 2002. They are generally rectangular,
and I often need to resize them and crop unwanted bits.

In the Format Picture Size tab there is an option to Reset the picture to
the original size, but the Height and Width in the Original size panel at the
bottom are the same -- ie PP is treating the imported image as square,
although it is not.

How do I, or can I, prevent this happening? Is there a switch somewhere
which is causing it to think every imported image is square?

Grateful for any help.

How large are the images?  If they're under a megabyte or so and
non-proprietary, I'd be happy to have a look if you'll email me one ...
