hi, i created a power point presentation, containing 3 files.
i have hyperlink buttons there, and when i roll over with the mouse, it
showes in a yellow field the location of the file, like a tool tip.
is there any way of turning that off. can't find it in power point, is
it a windows setting, or office?
thanks, dimitri
I dont believe that you can disable this, you can change the pop up screen
tip to a single space but you'll still see a box. Maybe someone knows better.
There is a work around though
1. Create the button but dont add the hyperlink
2. Creat a similar size shape with 99% transparent fill and no line (ie
invisible!)
3. With this shape - action settings - create a MOUSEOVER hyperlink to your
URL
4. Give the transparent shape an entrance of appear triggered by a click on
the button
5. Place the shape in front of the button
6. You might want to make the transparent shape disappear after use with a
"with previous" exit and a short delay (0.5 secs is enough) Make sure this is
directly below the triggered entrance
When you clcik the button the shape should appear and the mouseover take you
to the URL before the pop up screen tip appears

Did that answer the question / help?

thanks john,
unfortunally, becouse the presentation is a bit too big for that, with
many buttons to link, that would be too much work.
however, al my buttons are transpaerent shapes, placed over tiff
graphics (navigation bars)
the reason why i had to link to other documents is, that i had in one
large presentation too many links. and power point can't handle that,
i've lost all my links and had to recreate the file in 3 pieces.
and now that you link to an external file you see the link, which i
could to a single space, let's see if the client gets back to us about
it.
with power point more so than other programs, when you solve a problem,
you created another two.
thanks again, dimitri
