saving a downloaded template

how do you save the downloaded template from microsoft office templates into
your ppt. pot files so you can keep using them
mine just downloads for a new  presentation and then it is gone

Maryann,
That's just it, once downloaded it appears in PPT, immediately save as a
template. File - save as - in the save as list choose design template, give
it a name and you are done.

Hi Maryann,

when the file is opened in PowerPoint: File - Save as - File type (at the
bottom of the dialog box): POT, the right folder for templates should be
chosen automatically.
