Hi,
This is probably a very silly question, but how do I use two or more
different Master Slides within a presentation?
I have created the second master slide but I can't find how to associate a
given slide within the presentation with the second master instead of the
first.
TIA

DG,
Not a silly question at all.
Just select your slides in the view pane on the left side of the screen.
Activate your design template task pane. At the top of the pane you should
find your two master slides, click on the little arrow next to the one you
want to apply and choose apply to selected slides.
Also be sure you actually have two masters, I have had people who mistakenly
created a title slide master and thought it was a second master. A title
slide master is easily recognizable as it is attached to the master with a
connecting gray line.

You created the "master" in either PPT XP/2002/2003...right?
