I am trying to create a powerpoint presentation of company logos.  I want one
company logo per slide.  What size and format logo should I request from each
company in order to have a good resolution when I show them in a powerpoint
presentation?

Think about it in terms of pixels, rather than resolution. If you want the
logo to fill the screen, then you want the logo to be about 1024 x 768
(that's the most likely resolution of your projector). If that is the
resolution of your projector, more pixels won't help you.
