Scrolling number in a presentation

Hi,

During a powerpoint presentation I would like to do an animation where the
number 100 shown on a slide starts reducing by 1 each and eventually arrives
at another number and stops.  Some kind of a countdown counter.

This can be simulated by creating many slides with the number reducing by 1
on each slide; but is there an easier less cumbersome method of doing this?

Thanks.

I've done this by layering the numbers then using a peek in and peek out
animation to create the scrolling effect. It can get cumbersome though -
sifting through all the layers of numbers - especially with 100 numbers...

Let me know if you want to see an example of how I did this.

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your suggestion.  I believe that I understand what you are
saying.  Only hassle is the manual work.

I would try playing around with some run-time macros to see if I cannot
automate this stuff.  Will keep you informed if I manage to design something.

Thanks.
