I would like to view a powerpoint in half-screen with no toolbars, I want it
to look like full-screen mode but only taking up half the screen. I am
trying to create a digital memo board. With half the screen showing a
powerpoint presentation and the other scren would show another bulletin.

While this is possible, it will require a good deal of coding to both
display the presentation in a window and to keep the presentation running
when it loses "focus". (If you click anywhere outside the running
presentation it loses focus and stops.)

This could be achieved by using PowerShow's TickerShow feature described at
http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow_ticker_show.html. It allows
you to define a "map" that describes the location and dimensions of slide
shows on the screen. You can leave an area empty for displaying something
else. PowerShow will keep the slide shows active even when you work on that
something else when the slide shows are running.
