whenever I want to edit an equation that has been entered into a powerpoint
presentation, it tells me that "the server application, source file or item
can not be found or returned an unknown error. you might have to reinstall
the server application". this does not happen with word or any other office
application. I have already tried to reinstall power point and math type -
without any effect.

any help would be highly appreciated.

no, didn't help, but thanks anyway.
It's crazy because the settings are exactly the same on my desktop and no
problems there.
