Hi, My wife and I both have the same OS, 98se. When I play a pps file, that a friend sent to us, I get sound. When she plays the same file, which I copied to her system, she gets NO sound. We both get the slide show. We both have the same versions of Power point, SR-2 I think. I can play a .wav file on her machine and get sound, so I know the hardware's working. If you received more than just the one PPS file (ie, you got a sound file as well) you'd need to copy that to the same folder as the PPS on your wife's computer in order for it to work.
