How do I get rid of "Perfecting image"?

I tried to project in a classroom using my laptop (HP Pavilion zv6000) and
got alternatng about every 10 seconds on the projection screen an image and a
blue screen saying "Perfecting the image."  So I tried another computer (with
the same cable) and had no problem.  What is going on?

Sounds like a video card problem on the first machine
