I need to make a presentation highlighting some text in the page.  I am
thinking of creating an effect where there is an image of a  magnifier
zooming in on specific text in the presentation to clearly emphasize the
important/ key element in that document page.

You could use this little (free) program Virtual Magnifying Glass,
magnifier.sourceforge.net. You can start it with an action button on your
slide.

Thanks.   It willl be of big help.  One thing though, I can't seem to print a
magnified page showing the magnifier itself.  Any idea?!!

I'm afraid this magnifyer is for on-screen viewing only. If you need to
print what you see, I would recommend making a screen capture.
