Hi John - saw this thread when I did my research.
But unfortunately not - this seems to point to a general message with links.
My problem is not with normal links, but with a certain https link where
obviously server certificates or other security reasons play a role. but
thanks!

Does this relate to PowerPoint in some way?

If not, try posting in the appropriate IE newsgroup;  be sure to mention which
version if IE you're using.

Hi Steve  pardon - I took it for granted that we talk about PPT in this forum
-- it is a link in PPT which makes that problem for me - in IE we can call
this page, but from PPT we get a security dialog which stops us from linking
to the page.

OK, thanks for making that clearer.

Is it PowerPoint that's giving you the security warning?  What's the text in the
warning dialog box?
