In the left side bar (under the "Outline" tab), I have little icons of each
slide with their respective titles beside them.  I'd like to name/title/label
my slides a name differently from the title displayed on the slide.  Is this
possible?  Thanks.

Yes, but it's tedious.

The text in the slide's Title placeholder is what you'll see on the outline, so
you'd:

- Add a new text box on the slide and type your title text into it
- Drag the existing title off the slide
- Type anything you like into the existing title (where it's sitting off the
slide or in the outline view)

If you do this, your visible title will no longer follow formatting changes you
make in the slide or title masters.  You'll have to apply any formatting to the
new title text box on each slide.

Yes. All you need to do is make a copy of the title are of the slide. Drag
the original off the viewable area of the slide, and change the title in
the copy. What is in the copy will be displayed on the slide, what is in
the original will be displayed anywhere else the slide title is used.
