I need a slide show to run from a batch program so it needs to end without
requiring a response to the "End of slide show. Click to continue." screen
that comes after the last slide is shown. I can't find any setting that do
this in Powerpoint itself, nor any command line options that would have the
same effect. Any advice please?

Thanks John - I knew it would be there somewhere! Now working as designed.

Just to reiterate what Shawn already mentioned -- this will only work on the
computer you set it on, it's not a setting that travels with the
presentation.
That may not be an issue for you, but something about your original question
makes me think it might.

Click Tools > Options > View.
Uncheck End with black slide under the slide show section.
This will only work on the particular computer.
Another way is to add action button or autoshape and set the action setting
Hyperlink to end show.
