I am using an animation that fills the whole slide, but when I add text or
pictures to the slide and try to play back the slide show, only the animation
shows up--no text hits the screen.  What am I doing wrong?

I'm using PowerPoint 2003.

Define "animation".  Do you really mean a video?

Yes...it is an animated Digital Juice background slide.  The file has an
".avi" ending.

avi's in Powerpoint play in front of everything except some activX objects.
Austin has a method of using activX text boxes for basic subtitles OR you may
be able to edit the text into the movie see here (there's a link to Austin's
method there too)

Thank you, John!  I will explore the link more next week to see if this
really helps answer my question...but at first glance it looks GREAT!  Thanks
for the reply!
