This depends on what you want from your Word document and what is in your
PowerPoint document. The fastest and easiest way is to use the Send to
Word feature (File > Send to > Microsoft Office Word). This is mostly
good for creating handouts with pictures of slides, but there is also an
Outline option. The problem is that the outline option only sends text
that is in placeholders, so if you have pictures and/or you have added
boxes with text, this won't work for you unles you don't want those
things in your Word document.
You can also look into add-ins that might offer a bit more functionality,
including:

In powerpoint 2003 there was an option 'send to' that allowed you to send ppt
slides with notes for easy editing and printing in Word. Now that I converted
to Office 2007 I can't find this option anymore. Is this option still
available?
thanks,
