I am trying to make a table that has one column and five rows. In each of the
rows I want to have a number of the row centered. I have that done. I need to
be able to click on each number in the row and have a name or number replace
it. I would like to use macros for this however, I have followed the
instructions that the program gives me and when I play the slides it does not
work. I also tried to use other computers and can not be successful on those
as well. How can i fix this problem?
I currently have Microsoft PowerPoint 2003

We'd need more information.  What are the instructions you followed?

What program gives you the instructions?

I have followed the instructions given when I clicked the help at the top of
the page. then i clicked Microsoft PowerPoint Help and the help assistant
came up. I typed 'macros' in to the search area. I then clicked on  'How to
use macros in your presentation' and followed the instructions it gave me of
how to put macros in.

OK, good start.

Next, what macro code did you type in?

I'm not understanding what a macro code is? The only thing i need is for the
number 1 to be replaced with my name. Is a macro the best way to do this or
is there another way that would be better?

While a macro can do this, it seems like find and replace would be much
simpler.

For a one-shot, yes, but I think Lisa wants this to happen when she clicks the
cel in the table.

Can some of you animation wizards cobble up a way to do this w/o VBA?

If the table were ungrouped, it'd look like a table but you could treat each
cell individually as a shape.

You could dupe each cell, put the number in the topmost of each pair of cells
and fill it, put the name in the lower of the two.  Give the topmost a
Disappear, On Click animation setting and you're rolling down NoVBA Road.
