Graphics Tablet and PPT

I just got a WACOM Graphire4 and will start using it today in class, college
economics.  When I use PPT and write on the slide, it wants to advance to the
next slide after I stop writing.  How can I stop that?  I only want the next
slide when I am ready for it but I want to develop an idea that is on the
current slide.

Also, what is the best way to just use the tablet for free wheeling lectures?
I will just use WORD today but don't think that is the best way to go.  I
could also just use PAINT but going to a blank page is too cumbersome.  I
have used a smart board before and I want this to act as clost to that idea
as possible.

Use Slide Show, Set up show, and choose KIOSK mode.
That'll keep PPT from advancing when you click on the screen.

You'll need to add your own navigation controls then.  Easiest way to do that,
usually, is to add them to your slide master.  Yell if you need help with that.

Excellent Steve,

I just used PPT in class, twice now, for free wheeling lecture.  I just
inserted a bunch of blank slides and went into my discussion writing when I
would have on the board.  When a slide was full, I just advanced to the next
one.

I also just tried your suggestion with a pre-prepared slide show and it
worked fine.

Thanks,

Ed

Steve,

I'm not getting something.  My slides show the pen symbol, the advance and
backup arrows and the little menu square, looks like a credit card.  Yet,
when I am in pen mode and write on a presentation, it writes my comments and
then advances.  When in Kiosk mode, the pen icon doesn't appear.

I am a college professor and am trying to use a graphics tablet with some
blank and prepared slides.  Drawing graphs with the lablet is a bit
challenging so I want to prepare some of those and just use blank slides for
general lecture notes, which isn't so challenging.

Help.

Probably because the assumption is that in kiosk mode, your presentation will be
run by someone other than you, so you just want them to play it back, not make
comments etc. on it.

Try Slide Show, Set up slide show, and pick Presented By a Speaker (full screen)
