Allows Tables to Hold Graphics

Dear PowerPoint People,

I am writing this letter to request a better way to use graphics with tables
in PowerPoint.

I am working on a big presentation that has many tables and graphics in some
of the cells.  I want them to look good, to be centered, and to move when the
table moves and in the cell that I choose.  In Word, I can easily do this.
The object will be centered if I wish and will move with the table as well.
It can also be easily resized if I move/resize the table.

In PowerPoint, I notice that if I make or bring in a table and put a graphic
in the cell, it doesn’t act the same.

A graphic is not as easily associated with the table, so, if I move or
resize the table, the graphic stays behind.  Yes, I can group them, but that
doesn't work if I resize the table.

But I had a solution –if there is a table – allow it to be right-clicked to
display a ‘allow graphics in cells’ option that would essentially make them
inserted very easily, like in Word.

I did get some help from a posting I listed on your community website,
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.public
.powerpoint&mid=85a60716-1218-4df3-9141-0f43e9410657
)
and got closer.  I think it is the only option, but I am hoping there is a
better way.

Perhaps you have a solution for us.

Thank you,

Good suggestion.

Until something like this sees the light of day, you might try creating your tables in Word and coy /pasting them into PPT

I would be happy to do so.  I've tried, and when I paste in ppt - the
graphics get placed in another part of the page, and are stacked on top of
each other.

I'm not certain this will help, but even if the medicine doesn't cure, it'll do no harm ;-)

Make sure you've selected the entire table in Word before copying.

In PowerPoint, choose Edit, Paste Special and try each of the various options it gives you.  One
or more of them may give you better results than a straight Paste.
