Resetting a slide, but with slide show set for certain slides only...

I have a 68-slide slideshow, of which the first 13 slides make up the
show, and they contain action settings that hyperlink to the remaining
slides (hyperlinks to a specific subject on different slide), and the
hyperlinked slides contain animation, and then go back to the previous
slide (1 to 13).

I am unable to reset the slides once they have played.

I tried inserting a blank slide before a slide (no transition, advance
slide automatically after 0 seconds), and hyperlinking to that slide,
but it automatically goes back to the previous slide from where I
clicked, because the next slide is not part of the slide show (the
slide show is set to show slides 1 to 13 only, therefore it doesn't go
to anything else after 13 unless it is hyperlinked).

I also tried using a macro (resetSlide), but what that does is, it
doesn't play the animation at all on my slide. I must be doing
something wrong with the macro, but I don't know what exactly.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you.

There are probably a number of solutions to this. One that comes to mind
is to set the slide show to play all the slides. However, hide the slides
after 13, including the blank slide with the automatic transition. I
believe that a transition from a hidden slide to a hidden slide will work
while a moving forward from a non-hidden slide will skip any hidden
slides unless you use a hyperlink, which you are using.

When I do this, at the end of my animation, it goes on to the next
slide instead of going back to the slide where I came from. It shows
hidden slides anyways, and when I right-click and select "go to"
during the presentation, I can still see the hidden slides (with the
numbers between parathesis).

Any other suggestions??

Thank you!

Ah. In that case, you want to put each animation slide (possibly with the
blank transition slide for resetting purposes) in a Custom Show. Instead of
linking to the slide, link to the Custom Show and check the Show and Return
box when you link.

That works perferctly. I had already tried the custom show, but I
hadn't noticed the "show and return" checkbox.

Thanks!!!

There's a good description of using custom shows for this purpose here
See "When I hyperlink to a slide for the second time the animations don't
play"
