Problems inserting a MP3 file into slide

I was trying to insert an MP3 file into a slide I get the little speaker icon
but when I hit the Icon I get this error.
MCI error
The specified file cannot be played on the specified MCI device. The file
may be corrupt, not in the correct format, or no fil
I can play the MP3 file in the Media player no problem can anyone help,
please.

In windows START > RUN type mplayer2.exe and see if the mp3 plays there. If
it wont it wont play in powerpoint.

It plays in the mlayer2 no problem still wont in the new 2007 powerpoint
download free trial.

try a shorter path length or maybe see here for embedding mp3 s

I tried the CDex program that you had on your website converted to wav and
that seems to have made it work. I am going to see if some other MP3 that I
didn't make works.

I tried to put in another MP3 this one made by Jukebox plus people trying to
advertise was already on my system still got the error. Has anyone been able
to get MP3's to work with the new 2007 Powerpoint, or is it just my settings
