I am writing presentaitons mostly in English or Swedish. I find language
handling difficult, e.g. the only way I have found to get spell check is to
manually in every text-box set language to English. I have tried to use the
master slides, but for some reason the change does not have impact in my
document. IEven if I change default language to English, the change has no
impact on my specific presentation!

Erik,
PowerPoint can only change selected text to a specific
Language ID setting. If your text is in placeholders you can go to the
outline tab (left of the screen) this shows you all of the text you put in
the slides. Now select them all (CTRL+A). Choose Tools and Language, select
English as the language and hit OK. That won't have any effect on individual
textboxes and such.

If you want to use VBA code then go here:
