I have 7 slides that I use weekly.  I copy them every week to the start of my
new powerpoint; however, the backgrounds do not copy with the slides.  I then
reset each of the seven individual backgrounds.  This is time consuming.  Is
there a was to copy the background with the slide?

You could do a Save As and change the filename, then just amend the slides.
