I've upgraded to PP 07 but when I open a 03 presentation saved as an htm file
in 07, and then edit and try to save, it won't save it. Has anyone found this
issue?

Arlene,

I can't replicate the problem here. Are you getting any error messages?
Could the file be read only?

Hi, Glen:

The file is not read only. I make even a simple text change, and get this
message: PowerPoint fouond an error that it can't correct. You should save
presentations, quite, and then restart PowerPoint.

Obviously, I can't save--that's why the error message appeared in the first
place. The presentation I'm trying to edit is at

You're doing better than I! I saved to my harddrive (as an HTML file from
IE7), but I can't even get it to open in PPT 2007. Sheesh.

If I use Edit with PPT, it asks me for user name and password. If this is
what you're doing, try using a File | Save As to save to your harddrive. If
you just Save, you're saving to the server directly, and that could be the
problem.

You might try opening it, saving it, and then making edits and resaving.

I started PPT 2003, chose File, Open and pasted the URL into the filename box.

It asked me for passwords roughly a jillion times, I kept hitting cancel and
finally, the pressie opened (as Read Only).

I did a File, Save As and saved to a new name on the local HDD.

I was then able to edit text, save etc.

Arlene, if you're opening from the web then trying to save, it probably won't
work; you need to save locally.
