I'm having trouble inserting videos into my power point. The files are from a digital camera, so they are quicktime files, ".MOV". Power point doesn't recognize this file type so it will insert the video, showing me a still picture of the video, but won't play them. The weird part is that I can right click on the files and open them with Windows Media Player, and they will play in WMP just not in Power Point. They play just fine on the Mac, but I can't get them to play on my PC. I've even tried to do a "save as" in WMP but it won't change the ".MOV" file extension. Can anyone help me covert these videos into a file type Power Point will recognize? > I'm having trouble inserting videos into my power point. Try changing the MOV to AVI or MPG in Windows Explorer. Note: This is no conversion, you cannot change the file type this way, but you can correct the extension, if the camera software attached the wrong one. This happens with some cameras, and WMP will play the files, though their extension is wrong, but PowerPoint can not. But sometimes this crashes PowerPoint. It's related to the codec used in the .mov. Video files are containers for video plus audio content. Sometimes the file extension does not match the content. But if content and extension are QuickTime format, you can NOT insert the movie into PowerPoint, see here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint/HA100484611033.aspx?pid=CH100673501033 If another format is "disguised" with the MOV extension and PowerPoint recognises the format, you might be able to insert the movie. Check codecs to see what's inside the container.
