I have created a slide show with animation and everytime I try and run the
slideshow, I get what appear to be extra frames (slides) in between the
slides I have already created???  Is this a problem for anyone else and/or
can someone tell me how to fix this PLEASE!!!

Maybe a little more information would help!

Are you seeing slides you didn't make!?
Or do you mean that you need more than one click to move to the next slide?
Or something else entirely!?

I'm sorry.  I do mean that I need more than 1 click to move to the next slide.

Do you have video or control toolbox objects on the slides these need two
clicks - one to return the focus to powerpoint and one to transition.

Are the animations text or other
Are there any "after animation " effects (double click the animation entry
in custom animation and check in "effect"

Sorry John, I replied twice to the same post.....

but, I do not have video or control toolbox objects on the slide.  I do
however, have both text and image (photo) animation on the slide.  There is
an "after effect" of "start on click" that is highlighted????  Should this be
a concern??

"start on click" should start the "start on click" animation, and then
another click will transition the slide to the next one. That's why you need
two clicks.

more than 1 click to get to the next slide.  Can you help me??
