A friend asked me how to view a pps file.  He did not have powerpoint so I
downloaded the viewer from Microsoft.  I assumed once installed he would be
able to click on a pps file, say attached to an email, and it would open.
However, we found that you have to save the pps file, then open the viewer,
and then open the file in question.  Is this normal or do we not have it
installed correctly?
Thanks,
Frank

If you save the file, you should be able to double-click and have it open
automatically in the Viewer. Some combinations of the 2003 Viewer and email
programs and permissions or service packs disable the ability to open the
file from within the email program -- it's because of security stuff.

If double-clicking the file on the harddrive doesn't open it in the Viewer,

Normal if the email program is Outlook.

You should also be able to save the PPS to disk then doubleclick it to start
the show, though.
