Is there a way to change the defaults (ie. textbox settings) for every
presentation that I open to edit?  I know about blank.pot, but I want these
changes to be reflected on every presentation that I open.
ex. I want the textbox to default to red font when I insert a textbox in an
existing slide.

Thank you

Set up textbox how you would like it
Right click and > set autoshape default
Delete text box and save as blank.pot

This works for new presentations, but when I open an existing presentation
that was created with a different template, the textbox defaults are not what
I set.  Is there a way to set the defaults for new items on ANY presentation
that I edit, regardless of what template was used to create it?

Thanks

I don't think so -- unless one of the code gurus come up with a way. But
just using typical PPT and its tools, no.
