That's the best thing I've heard about 2007 to date.

Oh, that's sad.

My Microsoftphobic Mac has a special version of "clippy". It pops up and
says...

"Looks like you're writing a letter - would you like me to totally ***** it
up for you!"

Don't think of it as sad.  Think of it this way:  Clippy has gone on to a
better place, a place beyond the reach of the bitter bile spewed by
clippiphobes, a place where tuftetaunts never reach his ears.  He'll be happier
there.

Well, I for one do think it's sad.  Getting help with the office assistant
was so "sterile" as it is now in 2007.  I've also had quite a few snags in
getting things to work in the new version of office because you have to know
what ridiculous name they've given the option.  If I hadn't remembered the
keyboard shortcuts, I would have been lost trying to print a word document
when I first started using the new version.

They added this "comic relief" character back in Office 97 and through the
years it's been a way for me to keep my sanity when I'm stuck in Excel or
Word.  It was also fun to have my cats looking for where the other cat was
that was purring.  Maybe that's why one of them thinks that the top of my
monitor is where she belongs.

So in my humble opinion, not all change is change for the better.

No need for grief: You can download Clippy as an Add-In:
http://www.rjlsoftware.com/software/entertainment/clippy/

But bad news for your cat: They only offer the paperclip, not the cat.

@Steve: Wouldn't this link be worth an entry in the "fun" section of the
FAQ?

Best regards,
Ute

I think Vox Proxy also can use the cat in full presentation mode, if you are
still on XP.  However I think it was put down in Vista.

Thank you ;-))

You might want to add in the first line of problem description, that this
problem exists only in Office 2007.
