When I go to insert a music file into a presentation, I go through all the
steps, but when I go to insert a file, nothing appears in the folder it's
supposed to be in. Can anyone help?

thanks

Appears?  Folders?
What version of PowerPoint are you using and what behavior are you
expecting?

Normal behavior for inserting a sound does not copy or move anything
anywhere, it just creates a link.
