I have two files whose numbering is 2-X and 3-X, respectively. I want to
merge the files but preserve the page numbering. Multiple masters will take
care of preserving the 3- but page numbering continues sequentially from the
file 2-. I.e., slide 13 should be 3-1, instead it shows as 3-13. How do I
make it 3-1? Intent is to insert additional files with sequerntially numbered
sections.

For this style of slide numbering, you will need to manually insert and
enter the information into text boxes on the slides.  Yes, I know Word does
it automatically, but Word was designed to write chapters while PowerPoint
was designed to display slides.

Unfortunately, completed file would approximately 555 slides across 17
sections. So separate files it will be. Thanks.
