Have you tried, "Package to CD"? It takes care of that for you.

You've peaked my curiousity, but can you elaborate? Is "Package to CD" an
option built into Microsoft PowerPoint or some separate application (and if
so, how do I obtain it)? I have found a free auto run software but it has an
intro screen serving the marketing purposes of the originator.

It's part of PowerPoint 2003 but not earlier versions.
