Some MP3 Soundclips not playing in PPT whilst OK in Windows Explor

I have picked up from an old 2006 thread that this problem could (perhaps) be
cured by installing PFC Media software.

I have done this and the installation stated it was successful.

So - I've selected the slide I want to insert the soundclip into and clicked
on PFC Media in the toolbar - and then clicked on Insert Media from file -
and absolutely nothing happens.  

Any ideas please?
