when at slide show, there is no sound being play ?

i played the midi file with window media player, I can hear the song

what i did was these steps:

a)select my 1st slide
b)from Insert > Movies and sounds > Sounds from File > select my midi
c)select "Yes" [to play automatically]
also wish to run whole midi file thru end of whole presentation
d)rt-click the sound icon > choose Custom Animation
e)In Custom Animation task dialog box > select Effect Options
f)On the Effect tab, under Stop Playing, I enter the number of total slides
g)rt-click on snd obj again > select Edit Sound Object > select Loop until End

How long is the path/filename to the midi file?

For instance if the path looks like:
c:\Documents and Setting\Tartarus\My Documents\My Music\Do not move these
files - Im keeping them\Gloomy Stuff I heard on the radio\Really cool midi
files\The best of the really cool midi files\September of 2003\My amazing
musical midi with lyrics that include stuff about how we all sing off key
but sound great to ourselves in the shower.mid

...then there is a very good chance it will not play due to the path length.

Try placing the midi in a directory with a short path and with a short file
name.  Reinsert the midi.  Does it play now?

If it does not, it is possible that a third party sound program may have
toasted your MCI settings, but let's try this first.

OK, dude, you like gotta stop with the cell-phone-ese.  Its hard to read and
harder to understand.

Copy the Midi file into your root folder (C:\)

Now create a new presentation
   insert the midi
   play automatically

Start the slideshow

Any sound?

But that's not what Bill suggested.

Copy the MID file to C:\
Start a NEW presentation.
Now insert the MID sound from C:\ into your presentation.

Does the sound play?
