Hi

How do you make the Freeform shape 'snap to grid' as it did in previous
versions of powerpoint (or word)?

I draw a lot of shapes that need to be constrained in a grid and freeform is
the only way to do it that I know.

Thanks
Ger

HI POWERPOINT USER :) IF YOUR POWERPOINT IS ADVANCED ENOUGH YOU CAN CLICK
INTO VIEW AND GRIDS AND GUIDES. YOU CAN USE THE SPACING TOOL TO SET THE SIZE
OF THE GRID AND THE OTHER BUTTONS TO GENERALLY CHANGE THE GRID SETTINGS,

Thanks Daft TV butt..

I know how to put snap to grid on.

It is on, however freeform shape does not snap to the grid.  A straight
line, circle or square does but not a freeform shape.

I want to draw irregular shapes that are still constrained to the grid.

Thanks.

I keep hearing about this change in behavior, but I can't seem to get any
kind of snap to work with the freeform tool in PPT 2003 in the first place.
What am I missing?

Snap works here in 2003 on freeforms *while drawing them in the first place*
but not while using Edit Points on them afterward.

It doesn't work at all in 2007.

I guess I can't tell the difference between the gridsnap and the simple
straight lines you get when you click, click, click instead of click+drag to
draw a freeform, because here it just seems as if I'm getting straight lines
but not an actual snapping behavior.

Use the GridSnapMagnificationInspectionTool:  Set the grid to 1/2". :-)
