I would like to change the default folder that PowerPoint looks in whenever I
select the File/Open command.  I know how to change the default "Save"
folder, but I don't know how to change the default "Open" folder.  Help is
greatly apprecated.  Thanks in advanced.

Try changing the default folder location.

Tools => Options => (tab) Save => Default File Location
