Im a grad student and have been told to create a POSTER in MS
powerpoint.
I've looked through all the Menus...and can't figure it out.
Please help.

You can first set up the poster size you want in File > Page Setup (For
instance, A3 Paper and slide orientation to Portrait). Once you have decided
the size, you can start off the designing of the poster.
If you are printing the poster, take a look at:
"Print posters or other large format output"
