I want to place an object in my presentation and then I want that object to
move around.

What version of PowerPoint are you using? What do you mean by "move
around." Generally, what you want to do is done with animation. Newer
versions (2002 and above) have motion paths that can move objects around.
There are also solution with VBA, but you don't want to go there unless
animations don't come close to what you want.

What PowerPoint Version are you using? In PowerPoint 2002/XP and above, you
can make use of Motion Path to move your objects around the slide (Click
Slide Show > Custom Animation. Select the object, click Add Effect > Motion
Path. Look for a motion that you want to add).
