Last year, I created a PowerPoint presentation, complete with sounds. I
saved it to CD. At the time, it played on any machine I put it in. Today, I
tried to play it and while the slideshow plays, there is no sound. I put it
in another computer in my office and no soap.
I took it downstairs and tried it on a the newest computer in the office.
Played just fine. I tried it on a second computer downstairs and it worked
OK again.
Back upstairs in my office, it still won't work. Any Ideas? I believe the
sound files are imbedded on the CD as they do not show as individual files
when you open the CD in Explorer.

The sound files may be 'linked' to a place on your hard drive. If that's the
case then they would not be shown on the CD.
see
Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or
email a presentation
