Greetings all. I'd like to play a narration while several (7) pictures appear using the Expand custom animation effect. I've set all the pictures to enter After Previous and that part works fine. Problem is, no matter where I put the narration, it plays completely before the next pictures appear. I want to begin playing the narration at the start of the slide and have the pictures appear in order while the narration plays. Is there a way to do this in PPT 2003? Thanks, Pat Change your view of the animation task pane so that you are looking at the advanced timeline. Drag the animations after the narration so that they start where you want them to. I've done as you instructed and my advanced timeline looks like this: 0 (L) > Media 8 > (L) stars OSH Orie... [gray] (L) stars OSH Orie... [gray] ...and so on with a total of 7 photos. The (L) is a clock, I think, and the 'stars' are a symbol for some kind of media, I think. I hope this is understandable. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the animations are already after the audio narration. What am I missing? That does the dame thing as grabbing the animations on the animation timeline and moving them forward and back. What you were seeing in the advanced timeline before was an indication that the animation was waiting until the narration was totally done before it started. By dragging it to an earlier start point in the timeline, you would have accomplished the same thing as you did by using start with previous and giving it a delay.
